Last week a meeting took place where PureBlue's CEO Angelo de Mul was received by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al-Khaimah, together with H.E. Paul Ymkers and a delegation of Dutch water experts.

As exlpained by Angelo 'The warm welcome, genuine interest and personal words of His Highness touched me deeply. His long-term perspective on the future of Ras Al Khaimah, its people and its natural environment will stay with me. I left the meeting not only feeling inspired, but also with a strong sense of responsibility to help translate this vision into practical solutions.'

For PureBlue Water, this connects directly with the Green City vision: Building with Nature by treating water close to the source and making it safely available for local reuse.

Ras Al-Khaimah—with its urban developments, hospitality sector, mountain communities and smaller villages—offers a unique opportunity to develop distributed water reuse infrastructure. Intelligent, modular systems could support local greening, reduce freshwater demand and tanker movements, and strengthen the emirate’s long-term water resilience.

Together with our UAE partners ServeU and Union Properties, and our innovation activities within the DIFC Innovation Hub, we are building the technological, operational and digital backbone required to deliver Water-as-a-Service: combining treatment technology, intelligent monitoring and long-term operational responsibility.

Many thanks to H.E. Paul Ymkers, Dr. Carel Richter and the Embassy and Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the United Arab Emirates for making this exceptional meeting possible, and to all participating Dutch water experts for the valuable exchange.
